Reverend Marvin Walker

The Reverend Marvin J. Walker, a Cleveland native, was raised by a devoted Mother and God-Mother who instilled in him that the values of hard work and responsibility, and to always put God first. He believed this created opportunities for him to succeed in life.

It is upon this foundation that Rev. Walker has built his personal development and understanding of the importance of serving his community. It is this deep concern that led Rev. Walker to work in his community, as a trustee of Buckeye Area Development Corp., to Chair the E.T. Caviness Memorial Scholarship Foundation, which has helped College bound students since its conception in 2005, and to be a member of Cleveland's SCLC Executive committee

. In addition to being a Precinct committeeman for the Democratic Party he was elected to the County's Democratic Party's Executive committee. Rev. Walker is committed to Christ and serves in many religious groups. He is the Recording Secretary of the Baptist Pastor's Council, and the Financial Secretary of the Baptist Minister's Conference. As a former Pastor, he is the 1st Vice President of Christian Education for the Progressive Baptist District. Reverend Walker is on the faculty of the National Baptist Congress, USA, Inc. as an Instructor in Department of Theology. He is an Associate Minister at the Second Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Rev. Walker is a graduate of East Tech High School. He has attended Cuyahoga Community College, The Warren Bible School and the Cleveland Police Academy, for Supervisory training. Rev. Walker retired from the City of Cleveland, Division of Police Communications after 31 years. The husband of Mary Liggins Walker, for 37years and the proud father of two children, and the grandfather of two.

One of his favorite scriptures is: Galatians 2:20 (KJV) "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
