Pastor Addie M. Gibson (aka “Sis”) was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on December 15, 1944, to Addie Tyson and Walter Buchanan and transitioned to her heavenly home on August 8, 2024, after a short-term illness.
Sis loved children and opened her home to watch over kids, including some great and great-great nieces and nephews and was also a home health aide.
She found God at an earl age. She became a pastor and devoted member of New Covenant Ministries and praised the Lord through song with the Buchanan Singers ad the St. Luke Baptist Choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Anna Lucille, Lillie and Rosie; brothers, Willie B, James, TB, John, Recarlton, Theodis, Booker, Marvin, Jessie, Riley, Lennon and Willie T.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving sister, Iola; sister-in-law, Mildred; special nieces, Reta and Jerita; special children, Kenyatta, Phillip, Micaiah and Mar’Shea; special friends, Lovie and Gail; and a host of relatives and friends.
