Albert Roger Reed, affectionately known as “Sonny” or “Saul,” passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
Albert was born on September 25, 1950, to the union of Roger Mathis and Rebecca Reed in Cleveland, Ohio. He was educated in the Cleveland Public School System and graduated from East High. He was employed at Braden Sutphin Ink Company.
He loved playing softball and spending time with his family and friends.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Mathis and Rebecca Mathis; his brother, Clifton Graffenreed; and his sister, Geraldine Bolden (Ray).
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Tonya Bates; two grandsons, Jaden Bates and Jordan Bates; his sister, Gwen Graffenreed; nieces, Kim Ferguson, Clarinda Banks (Larry), and Nichelle Graffenreed; nephews, Frank Ferguson Jr., Michael Ferguson, Jason Graffenreed, and Clifford Townsend Jr.; and a host of other relatives.
