Alfonzo Williams born the son of Alfonza Stubbs and the beloved Medrener Williams on October 22, 1969 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Alfonzo, best known as “Fonzo” to many, born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and attended St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary School, Central Catholic High School, and Malone University achieving a Bachelor of Arts degree. Being well educated and savvy allowed him to become an expert at whatever he set his mind on doing.
Alfonzo promoted education, and worked for The Cleveland Metropolitan School District. mentoring, and coaching young adults. He was a very private man but that did not prevent him from being loved by many. When he showed up, he was always dressed to impress with his head held high and shoulders back and a warm hand to provide a firm handshake and direct eye contact. He made wearing a pair of jeans with a belt on of course, look like he was in a suit. And when he left your presence, he left you with an encouraging word to do better.
He was a Christian man who believed in the power of prayer. He had an Entrepreneurial Spirit, he owned several businesses not limited to the following: A Childcare Center, A Hair Salon, a Transportation and Trucking business. Always willing to invest in others, providing lending words of advice pertaining to financial matters and credit scores. His love and passion for basketball lead him to play and coach throughout his years.
Alfonzo would say, “Sometimes you have to invest in these kids to let them know that they can make a difference.” “I didn’t know what I didn’t know, if someone would have shown me, but I made the most of it all.” And as my aunt Emma would say “Fonzi, if they don’t like it f— them and feed them beans. “The impressions someone leaves and how they make you feel, is all that matters.”
He leaves to cherish memories: father Mr. Alfonza Stubbs; children: LaDazhia Williams, Alfonzo Williams, twins-Haiden Cox-Williams, Hallie Cox- Williams, Alexia Cox; sister Chanel Williams; nieces-Raynijah N. Williams, Raielle “Toodie” Walker, Angela Franklin-family; his special love Ms. Satoria McDonald; best friends-Monty, Keith, and Gregg, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.
