A Life Well-Lived
Alice Stevens was born April 28, 1933, in Pickensville Alabama to the late Willie Hayes Nalls and Flora Harper. She confessed her belief and trust in Jesus Christ at an early age. She joined New Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Pickensville, Alabama where she serviced as a faithful member until she moved to Memphis Tennessee.
Later, Alice moves to Cleveland Ohio where she met and married the late Willie Woods. After her divorce from Mr. Wood, she later married her long-time beloved husband Anthony Stevens (Tony) for 56 years. She joined Trinity Presbyterian Church and faithfully served over 30 years. She worshiped and served in a great capacity known as St. Mark’s Presbyterian church under the leadership of Pastor Carmen Cox Harwell. She served on several auxiliaries’ boards, Served as a Deacon and Usher, demonstrating love, compassion and faithfulness to the ministries.
With a passion for knowledge, Alice pursued her education with dedication and excellence. She graduated from Pickens County Training High School, setting the stage for a distinguished career in the professional industry. She pursued a degree in business from Henderson Business Collage, Memphis, Tennessee. Alice was a dedicated employee of Mount Sinai Hospital in Cleveland Ohio for 30+ years. She earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers for her unwavering commitment to excellence.
Personal Life and Passions
Beyond her professional achievements, Alice was a person of diverse interest and had a passion for traveling the world with her husband Anthony and long-time friends and friends of the Thirty clubs. Their travels included Europe, Spain, Hawaii, Aruba, Alaska and the Caribbean islands. She had a deep love for bowling, which she won several 1st place trophies. She had a passion for sewing, cooking, reading, and fitness, which brought joy and fulfillment to her life.
Family and Relationships
Alice was a devoted family member, cherishing the bonds that connected her to her loved ones. She was a loving Sibling and a doting Aunt, always ready with a kind word or a comforting embrace. She and Anthony’s home was a place of warmth and hospitality, where friends and family gathered to share dinner celebrations, stories, laughter, and love. She was a beloved individual who touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
Alice leaves to cherish her precious memories, beloved husband Anthony Stevens, Solon, Ohio, Sister, Evangeline Haney (John), Belleville, II., Brother, William Harper (Mariam), Beachwood, Ohio, Sister-in-law, Yvonne Johnson, Hempstead, NY, Sister-in-law, Bessie Woods-Owens (Solon, Ohio), Brother-in-law, Clark Stevens (Sandy), (Dunbar, West Virginia) Godson, Goddaughter, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Community and Legacy
Alice believed in giving back to the community and made a significant impact through her philanthropic efforts. She supported various causes close to her heart including Chairperson of Churchwomen United, Heights, Southeast District, Homeowners Association and the Thirty Club. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and compassion will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.
