Angela Teresa Hobbs-Jordan was born on January 25, 1962, to the late Betty and Ennice L. Hobbs in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the third youngest of 9 children (8 girls and one boy). She was affectionately known to loved ones as “Angie” or “Resa”. Angie “Resa”, was educated in the Cleveland Public School System.
Upon completion of high school, Angie worked various jobs involving cooking, preparing food, and managing the entire operation of the food business as a Certified Food Manager for over 25 years. She was recently employed in the kitchen at Heinen’s Pepper Pike, where her talents and skills were proudly displayed in Heinen’s Prepared Foods section and the Salad Bar. This is where she enjoyed dedicating her services until she took ill.
Resa met the love of her life, Alexander “Hula” Jordan, when they were teenagers by way of his sister, Velma Jordan, who was Resa’s best friend. It was indeed love at first sight, they became inseparable as he would visit her regularly at home or at his sister’s house. It was truly “a love for life” encounter that withstood the test of time. They maintained a very close relationship throughout high school and later began their own journey as a family. Resa’s family became Alexander’s family, and his family became hers. Her family would attend Jordan events and support in every way they could. They would bond with aunts and uncles and build lasting relationships. Resa and Alexander would soon add to their joy two sons and a daughter, Alexander Jr., Laurente and Summer, completing their Circle of Love! Resa cherished Alexander, her children, and grandchildren and enjoyed spending precious time with them.
Resa’s bond with her sisters was special. She was the light of her entire family; her family was everything to her. Resa was an excellent cook and loved entertaining her family and friends, cooking, grilling, playing cards, going to the casino, and listening to music. She loved attending “Old School” concerts with Alexander. She had the sweetest personality and was always willing to help in any capacity. Resa never met a stranger, and she was a true soldier. She was a classy little lady with a heart bigger than this world. To know her was to love her.
While being visited by family one Sunday afternoon, Resa received the prayer of eternal faith. During her illness Alexander was by her side daily praying and giving her hope. However, on Tuesday, February 7, surrounded by Alexander and her children, Resa transitioned from Earth to Glory at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. The memories and “glow in her eyes” will forever be etched in the soul of Alexander Jordan, her “lifelong love” of 45 years. Her passing has left a deep imprint in the hearts of her three children, Alexander Lavelle (Bresha), Laurente Jovan, and Summer Alexis; her seven sisters, Jackie (Alphonso) , Maria (Marlow), Betty, Annie, Gloria, Glynis, and Joye; one brother, Ennice; five grandchildren; Charlie, Ourmond, Jamiya, Alexis, and Monroe; a special cousin, Sandra Wagner; her best friend for life, Velma Jordan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will forever be missed, but NEVER, EVER, forgotten.
