Angelia “Angie” Powers, beloved mother to 2 children, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2024. She was born on September 3, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio to Lovetta and Benny Chisholm, and was the oldest of 6 children. Angie graduated from Glenville High School in 1975. She moved to Akron, OH and attended the University of Akron before settling into a career in customer service, primarily in the banking industry, for over 40 years.

She married Willie “Greg” Powers on January 3, 1994. She found peace and joy in being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. She was an avid reader and enjoyed talking about family and current events. Angie was a kind-hearted woman with a sweet and peaceful demeanor. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Good Shepherd Baptist Church when she could.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents, Lovetta and Benny Chisholm; husband, Willie “Greg” Powers; and brother, Benny “Greg” Chisholm.

She is survived by her beloved sons, Carl and Jordan (Octavia) Sommerville; her sisters, Benita Shearer and Brenda Chisholm; her brothers, Darryl “Tony” Chisholm and Malcolm Chisholm; her grandchildren, Ajeenah, Robin, J’Ashtin, Milani and Carter, and a host of nieces and nephews, all who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
