Annie Corine Blackmon was born April 23, 1942 in Seale, Alabama to Annie and Allen Davis (both preceded her in death). She was the ninth of twelve siblings.
In 1960, Annie graduated from Lima Senior High School. She later attended business college and studied data entry in Yonkers, New York.
In 1967, Annie married Edward C. Blackmon (preceded her in death). They made Cleveland, Ohio their home. To this union, Christa LaShawn Blackmon was born.
Annie worked for thirty years as a private duty nurse. She worked in many nursing facilities such as Wade Park Manor, Judson Park, and cared for elderly clients in their homes. She had a deep compassion for working with senior citizens.
Annie, the matriarch of her family, truly LOVED everyone! She enjoyed traveling to visit family in Lima, Ohio as well as other cities. Her hobbies were shopping, attending concerts, line dancing at Murtis Taylor, sewing, gardening, and cooking.
Annie accepted Jesus Christ in 1955 while living in Seale, Alabama. In the early 1980’s she joined Philippi Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio where she served on the Usher Board for many years.
Annie Corine Blackmon was lifted into the arms of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, on Monday, April 29, 2024. She leaves to honor and cherish her memory, two precious daughters: Christa Blackmon of Cleveland, OH and Elaine Bryant of New Rochelle, NY. The love of her life, her grandson, Andre Devaughn Blackmon. Three stepsons: Edward, Jeffery, and Charles Blackmon. Two step-daughters: Carolyn and Darsell Blackmon. Two sisters: Willa Pearl (Mose Howard) and Gertha Davis. Four brothers preceded her in death: Norman, Andrew, Allen Jr, and Cleveland Davis. Five sisters preceded her in death: Thelma Youngblood, Selma Long, Wylean Miles, Rosie Hill, and Ida Davis. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends will forever cherish Annie’s life and legacy.
