Annie Petty, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, in the compassionate embrace of her family and loved ones. Born on January 19, 1949, in Huntsville, Alabama, Annie was the cherished daughter of the late George and Ruby Petty. She joins them now, along with her son Larry Petty, Sr., and her siblings Roy, James, Carol, Thelma, Jeannie, and Christine Petty, who predeceased her and are surely welcoming her with open arms. Annie’s life was rich in love and family. She is survived by her children: Eddie, Robin, Ronnie, Sharon, and Orain Petty, along with her devoted daughter-in-law Elizabeth (Beth) Grabill. Her surviving siblings, Thomas, Richard (and his wife Alice), Jerry, Rudolph Petty, and her sister and best friend, Louise (and her husband Joe) Williams, will forever cherish her memory. Her legacy of love extends to her extraordinary family of 50 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren, who will carry on the spirit of joy and warmth that Annie embodied. A career in the hospitality industry allowed Annie to touch countless lives with her kindness and grace. Her remarkable culinary skills brought comfort and delight to many, as she crafted meals from scratch that were as rich in flavor as they were in love. Annie’s passion for cooking was matched only by her love of playing bingo and the unrestrained joy she found in dancing, a testament to her vibrant spirit and zest for life. A service to honor and celebrate Annie’s life will be held on August 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Calhoun Funeral Home & Cremation Service, located at 23000 Rockside Rd., Bedford Heights, Ohio 44146. Following the service, a repast will take place at Kovacic Recreation Center, 6250 Saint Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44103, from 2 PM to 6 PM, where family and friends will gather to share memories and support one another. The Petty family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shown them kindness and support during this difficult time.
