Anthony Alan McCarthy was born on November 2, 2003 in Cleveland, Ohio to David Alan McCarthy and Tina Cherise Billingsley (formerly McCarthy). He was the youngest of three born to that union. Anthony grew up in Twinsburg, Ohio where he attended school from kindergarten through his graduation in 2022 from Twinsburg High School. After high school, he briefly attended Cleveland State University. During that time, he confirmed for himself that his true passion lay in working with his hands. He then began his journey to becoming an Electrician through Lake Erie Electric where he worked with pride and dedication until the time of his passing.
During his youth, Anthony had a deep love for family, cars, bike riding, video games and watching wrestling. In 2005, he began attending Destiny Church in Twinsburg, Ohio, with his grandmother. Shortly thereafter, his entire family joined and became active members. At the age of 11, Anthony began his basketball journey, leading his first recreational team to a championship. His love and passion for the game continued to grow as he began playing AAU basketball, which he played for the next several years. Anthony joined the Twinsburg City School District basketball program in seventh grade and continued through his senior year, earning numerous awards and honors, including Suburban League Player of the Year.
Anthony was loved by his family and friends and was known for his sense of humor, thoughtfulness, loyalty, competitive spirit and playful nature. His bright smile and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his impact on others.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Bobby Joe Billingsley and Lovett McCarthy and by his uncle Tony Alan McCarthy.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Tina and David; siblings Aaron and Alyssa; grandmothers Mary McCarthy and Gloria Billingsley; uncles Larry McCarthy, Eric McCarthy Sr, and Bobby Anthony Billingsley (Tracy Bellum); aunt Traci Billingsley; cousins Djuan, Nicholas, Eric Jr, Chelsi, Angel, Zaida, and Kaiya; and a host of other relatives and friends whom he loved and cherished.
