A TIME TO BE BORN
Anthony Bernard Dixon was born the second of four children to the late Mr. Lawrence and Amie Dixon (preceded in death) on December 9, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio.
A TIME TO SERVE
Anthony Bernard Dixon confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior at the very young age of 15 years old at Grace Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Walter Boykins Sr. in Cleveland, Ohio.
A TIME TO EDUCATE
Anthony attended Cleveland Public Schools, where he graduated from John Adams High School in 1983. Throughout life, Anthony went on to obtain multiple certifications in various skills and trades. Although nothing came more naturally than his passion for caregiving and his love for painting.
A TIME TO UNITE
Anthony met and married Wanda Sullivan in August 1989. From this union, three daughters were born: Antonia L. Sullivan, Antoinette B. Dixon, and Antonesha M. Dixon. In August 2006, Anthony married Jennifer Edmonds (preceded in death) and remained married until her untimely passing.
A TIME TO BE CALLED HOME
Anthony Bernard Dixon, better known to everyone as “Ant,” departed his earthly body on September 28, 2025, at MetroHealth Medical Center.
A TIME TO REMEMBER
Anyone who knew Anthony, Antney, Ant, or AntDog knew that he “knew funny.” Whatever he went by to you, the fact forever remains that he was one “funny MF” (in his words). His sense of humor, corny jokes, and laughter were infectious—something people looked forward to and loved the most about him. He was an amazing son, a wonderful friend, and a loving father. He was one of the most caring people you’d ever have the pleasure to meet. He was a selfless caretaker to many, and his devotion to his brother Lawrence (Marshall) was always at the top of his priorities—effortlessly demonstrating his unconditional love and genuine desire to take care of others, most times before caring for himself. This was something he so graciously inherited as a child from his mother, Amie, the Queen Caretaker. Anthony would always find the time to provide for the needs of others for no other reason than it being the right thing to do. Anthony was very much unapologetically himself, and in return, he loved people for exactly who they were.
A TIME TO CHERISH
We will always cherish his smile, unique sense of humor, and most certainly his laughter that could brighten up any room on the darkest of days.
Anthony leaves behind to preserve his legacy three daughters: Antonia L. Sullivan (Muffin), Antoinette B. Dixon (Neatapoo), and Antonesha M. Dixon-Carter (Kevin Carter); three siblings: Lawrence M. Dixon Jr., Valerie M. Franklin (Milton Ruffin), and Sanford Dixon (Patricia Brown); two godbrothers: Joseph Bradley (India Bradley) and Rasheem Thompson; eleven grandchildren: Howard, Antwonie, Kosar, Jashawn, Javier, Chance, Darren, E’mhyni, Nyelah, Kwadir, and Ky’ael; two nieces: Tyesha Williams and Tiara McCray; and two nephews: Edward Dixon and Cedric Franklin. He also leaves a host of extended family, friends, and people who will forever cherish his memory.
