Auyati “Yati” Cinise Gordon was born on September 5, 1976 to Sherita Gordon of Cleveland, OH and Bryant O’Connor of Chicago, IL. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Selmer and Helen Gordon, her uncle, Stanley Gordon, extended family, Charles Nobles and 2 brothers. Yati was born at Bedford Hospital in Bedford, Ohio. She was the oldest girl of several siblings.
Yati accepted Christ at an early age. She joined Grace Missionary Baptist Church in the mid-1980s under the leadership of Pastor Walter L. Boykins Sr. As an adult, she rededicated her life to Christ at Mt Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Larry L. Harris Sr.
On October 29, 1992, Yati shared the joy of welcoming her only child, Torionne Nobles, with Lawrence Nobles. She received her formal education in the Cleveland Public School System. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1994, where she was crowned Prom Queen of her class and a member of The Lawyerettes High Steppers.
Yati started her career in nursing, where she spent many fulfilling years, continually advancing her education. As a teen mom, she was determined to give her son the world. Her ambition and drive motivated her to keep reaching for the stars. Most recently, she began a career in the trucking industry, where she met the love of her life, her fiancé Louis Williams. She truly enjoyed traveling in “Storm”, her 18 wheeler truck and seeing different parts of the country. She was excited with the progression of this new chapter.
Gifted with her hands, Yati’s passions were making home improvements and gardening. She loved creating things and her talent shined when she opened Helen’s Silk Creations, a small business making flower arrangements. She loved entertaining and truly never met a stranger. Yati had a beautiful singing voice. She had an infectious smile, with always something funny to say. Yati was a kind and caring person, loving all Gods creations, including her dogs and fish. Everyone felt her love when she called you “Cookie” or “Peaches”.
Above all else, Yati loved her family deeply and unconditionally. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom affectionately called her “Suga Mama”. Being a grandmother brought her the absolute most joy. No matter where she was, she called her babies every night to tell them good night.
