Barbara Ann Stewart was born on December 31, 1958, the first daughter to Mary Ann and Allen Stewart. She was the eight child of 10 children.
Barbara was a member of First Zion Baptist Church where she was baptized at an early age.
She was educated in the East Cleveland School system, graduating in 1978 from Shaw High School.
Prior to graduating she gave birth to a baby girl she named Rashenda Stewart. Later in the 80’s Barbara married the love of her life Sydney Shearer, and remained married for 8 years.
After graduation she worked various jobs (waitressing, the Federal Building and more). Barbara eventually became employed for 14 years at Formal Rubber Company. Later was hired at University Hospitals, until 2008. She suffered her stroke while at work and as a result became partially disable.
Barbara enjoyed shopping, family gatherings and loved the Cleveland home sports teams Browns, Indians and the Cavaliers. She was a very outgoing and loving person. After the passing of her daughter she assisted with the raising of her nieces and nephews. Barbara and her only sister Louise developed a special relationship after her illness.
Barbara was called home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2015 at South Point Hospital.
Love ones that preceded her in death were both parents Mary Ann and Allen Stewart; her daughter; Rashenda Stewart, husband Sydney Shearer, and 4 brothers; Melvin (Cheryl), Clinton, Clifford and Nathaniel.
She leaves to cherish her memory brothers; James (Tesa), George (Michelle), Richard and Bart (Genet) Stewart, and Sister; Louise with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
