With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Barbara Ware-Woodley, who departed this life on September 13, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on December 10, 1954, in Ohio, Barbara lived a life marked by strength, sacrifice, and unwavering love for her family.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Clifford and Lucille Woodley. Barbara attended Patrick Henry and Glenville schools, where she began to develop her strong will and love for learning. A self-taught typist, she spent countless nights studying to build a meaningful career. Her determination led her to a successful career with the United States Postal Service, where she served faithfully until retirement.
In 1973, Barbara married her lifelong love, Carl Ware, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and resilience. From their union came four devoted daughters:
Monique Woodley-Ware, Christine Ware, Carla Ware, and Simone Ware.
She was a proud grandmother to: Dominique, Brittnie, James, Lil Lynn, Lyn’nique, Sean, Christopher, Marqueshia, Asia, Champagne, Chardonnay, Demario, J’Shanay, and Tamirah
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Linda
She was a joyful great-grandmother to 11 great-grandchildren, with one more blessing on the way.
Barbara is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Darlene, Clifford, Minnette, and Blanche,
and was preceded in death by Robert and Gwendolyn.
Barbara loved the outdoors and found joy in traveling. She cherished time with her family and was known for her honesty, loyalty, and fierce devotion to those she loved. Never shy to speak her mind, Barbara stood strong for her values and worked tirelessly to provide for her family. Her legacy is one of resilience, sacrifice, love, and unwavering strength.
She will be missed deeply, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
