Betty L. Young (nee Sanders) was born on January 20, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, and peacefully entered eternal rest on February 6, 2026, in Lyndhurst, Ohio.
Betty devoted many years of faithful service working for Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) at the Federal Building in Cleveland, where she was employed for 25 years before retiring. She took pride in her work and valued the relationships she built during her career.
Betty found joy in life’s simple moments and brought laughter and smiles wherever she went. She enjoyed bowling, reading books, listening to music, occasional trips to the casino, and relaxing at home while watching her favorite soap operas and television shows. She especially treasured time spent with her family and loved being surrounded by those closest to her.
She will be remembered for her kindness, loving spirit, and the care she showed to everyone around her. Her presence brought comfort to many, and her memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lem Sanders and Willa Jackson; her beloved daughter, Melody Sanders; her brother, Lem Sanders Jr.; her sister, Mary Jones; her brother-in-law, James Jones, and her devoted husband, Horace Wesley Young III.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Sylvia Guadalupe Young and Alma Rosa Padgett; her son, Horace Wesley Young IV; her sister, Earlene Jackson; her brothers, Jerry Henderson (Sandra) and Rotell Jackson; her sisters-in-law Bridgee Sanders and Betty Bridgewater; her brothers-in-law William Young and Robert Young (Theresa); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews
