On March 2nd, 1932 an AMAZING, EXCEPTIONAL, baby girl was born to Mr. & Mrs. Jim Hendrix, and they would call her Celia Lorraine
She grew up to become a woman of strong faith and belief in the Lord. Bishop Ross accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She accepted her call into the ministry in 1953 and was ordained in 1974. She continued to serve the Lord for the rest of her life. She worked in the medical field for over 50 years retiring from V.A. Hospital in 1983.
She Founded & Pastored Chapel Of Faith Church. As a Pastor she accepted her charge to preach and teach the Gospel Of Jesus Christ to everyone she came in contact with. For over 40 Years Bishop Ross’ ministry would include Jail/Prison ministries, Layspeaker, Founder of Jubilee, Spiritual Counselor, and numerous awards and recognitions. She evangelized across the United States, and was Joyfully ordained as a Bishop on December 7, 2014
On Thursday January 18th, 2018 at 5 a.m. Bishop Celia L. Ross went from her laboring to her reward, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Bishop Ross was preceded in death by her husband Louis Lee Ross, parents Jim & Isabelle Hendrix, sisters Ella Mary Cox, James Helen Cotton, Francis Aaron Miller, Eselle Frye, and Willie B. White, and brother Ellie G. Hendrix.
She leaves to celebrate and cherish her life and legacy her children Patricia L. (Douglas) Scott, Shirley DeLois Ross Iris A. (George) Love, Gwendolyn (Allen) Fite, Louis Anthony Ross, Ranodia Ross, Celia Nikchole Caldwell, Amber S. Caldwell and Autym S, Caldwell; grandchildren, Kimberly, Syrenthia, Equiana, Charlotte, Lynette, Mervin, Aaron, Brandi, Antwane, Steven, Jay-P, Allen Jr., Todd, Louis, Tobin, Amber and Autym, 35 grandchildren, 5 great-grand children, 3 great-great children and a host of nieces, nephews and spiritual sons and daughters.
Bishop Ross is dearly missed by her love ones who celebrate the awesome fact that she is at peace resting with her Creator.
