Bishop Gabriel Halton – A Committed Servant

Bishop Gabriel S. Halton, 49, of Richmond Heights, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2015 at home with his loving wife.

Bishop Gabriel S. Halton was born November 6, 1965 in Terre Haute, IN to the late Bishop Stanley Halton and the late Mother Mary Lou Halton. He was one of 12 brother and sisters.

Bishop Gabriel Halton graduated for Cleveland Heights High School in 1984 and in 2004 he received his Doctor of Arts in Divinity from Rochville University.

He married his high school sweetheart Tracey D. Williams, who he often referred to as his queen December 6, 1986. During this union were born three lovely children: one son, Valentino and two daughters, Antoinique and Gabrielle Halton. He had one grandchild Kiley M. Preston.

In July 2001 Bishop Gabriel Halton was appointed to the office of District Elder over the state of Illinois. In Novermber 2001 he was appointed Suffragan Bishop and Diocesan Bishop of Indiana and Illinois. In 2003 he was consecrated to the office of Episcopal Bishop in Jackson, MI and entrusted to carry on the work at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church Inc. Although he served locally with the community, there was a global call on Bishop Halton’s life to serve internationally. Bishop Halton has moved beyond the four walls of building into the world as an Ambassador for Lively Stone Church of God and his travels to Nassau, Bahama; Haiti, and the East Coast of Africa. He was elevated to First Assistant Presiding Bishop of the Lively Stone Fellowship of Churches in 2014 and was to be appointed on June 16, 2015 in Saint Louis, MO.

Preceding him in death was his Father Bishop Stanley Halton, Mother Mary Lou Halton, and two brothers Gerald Halton and Bishop Nathan Halton.

Gabe won Heights' first LEL wrestling championship for us with a pin in the final match. He was full of charisma--not surprised that he became a pastor. He loved kids and was a wonderful counselor at Heights' Summer Sports camp. He cared for our 3 children at that camp. Taught them how to catch grapes in their mouths after throwing them up in the air. I was honored to have attended his ordination.He congratulated Rhonda and me on our anniversary via facebook the day he passed away. We had planned to have dinner but never set a date--I regret that. I am most proud of the path he chose for his life and the many people he brought to God. Bless you, my friend.

What a wonderful pastor and leader, you are missed. Bishop loved the children, he love working with them because they don't complain. Bishop would say I wouldn't ask you to do anything that I wouldn't do. When you go to speak to bishop in his office he would put himself in your seat and return you with mercy. It can't be said enough how much he loved his wife. He loved the church and teaching the people what God has given him. Rest in peace bishop

Praise The Lord Halton Family, Our hearts are heavy with grief. We have known Gabriel Halton since he was a young man. He has been in my home many times. He interacted with my children.
