Byron Rudolph Fahie, born on February 8, 1961, to the late Ada Gordon Turnbull and Austin Fahie on the beautiful tropical island of St. Thomas, United State Virgin Islands. Byron early childhood education was on Tortola British Virgin Island. In 1977, Byron left Tortola to join his sister Carol in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from John Fitzgerald Kennedy High School. Upon graduating from High School Byron soon began a successful entrepreneur and businessman career.
Byron’s journey through life was marked by his entrepreneurial spirit, deep love for his family, and unwavering commitment to his community. For over 25 years, he owned and operated Gene’s Convenience Store, a cornerstone of the community, with locations at 110th & Woodland and 75th & Kinsman in Cleveland. Byron’s generosity and dedication to the neighborhoods he served left an indelible mark on countless lives. In his later years, Byron retired and moved to New York with Family and then Alabama, where he embraced a quieter life surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Despite retiring, his passion for life never wavered. Byron loved to cook, listen to music, travel, and spend time with his loved ones. Always hands-on, he could often be found fixing things around the house or sharing a hearty laugh with those close to him. His legacy of giving back to his community and supporting those in need will forever be cherished.
Byron was a man of faith who attended God’s Will Church in Cleveland, Ohio, alongside his family. His spiritual life was a source of strength and comfort throughout his journey.
He leaves behind his beloved children: Sharita, Whitney, Alando, Byron, Beverly, Stephanie, and Shamyjah, along with his cherished grandchildren: Na’viyah, Na’riyah, Journie, Cameron, Lydia, Marco, Joliette, Davian, and Usain.
Siblings who will continue to honor his memory are Ethel, Kathleen, Irene, Ramona, Carol, Renaldo, Dale, Alnando, Glenn and Serina. He is reunited in peace with his mother Ada Gordon Turnbull, father Austin Rudolph Fahie, siblings: Rhelita, McKenzie, Berenicia and Eva.
Byron’s life was a testament to hard work, love, and resilience. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the family he held dear. Byron peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family on December 24, may his soul rest in eternal peace.
