Evangelist Carol Skinner, born March 3, 1946, in Perry, GA, to Andrew and Mary (Fluellen) Dennis. Evangelist Carol was the 7th of 11 children. She graduated from H.A. Hunt High School in Fort Valley, GA, in 1964. Later, while working in the kitchen of an air force base, she met and later married Larry E. Skinner (deceased). To this union two sons were born, Dirkson Andrew Axiom Skinner and Jerrett Devaughn Skinner, after their move to Cleveland, Ohio.
Evangelist Carol worked in the dental industry until her retirement in 2008. She was then called to follow her passion and began fostering and ministering to children and the neighborhood. Ultimately, she adopted her two girls, Sky’lar Vinnie and Sha’Nest Jean Keith-Skinner.
In 1988, Evangelist Carol was introduced to the Apostolic faith by her friend, Yvonne Render. She was later baptized at Calvary Apostolic Assembly by the late Bishop Lewis Fitzpatrick. During her many years of faithful and devoted service, Evangelist Skinner served as an altar worker and as a Sunday school and junior church teacher. She served as president of the Ohio District Council Missionary Dept, and Pastor’s Aid Committee. She also was a member of the Inspirational Voices of Calvary Choir.
Evangelist Carol, who was affectionately known as Auntie Skinner, Big Mama, and Mama, was preceded in death by siblings Andrew Jr., Thelma, James, Nathaniel, Mary Bernestine, and Wynell.
She leaves to mourn her loss siblings Harold, John (Cathie), Lucy, Patricia, and sister-in-law Jacqueline Young; her loving children Dirkson, Jerrett (Kisha), Skylar, and Sha’Nest; her adoring grandchildren Jayvonna, D’Vaun, Ja Rai, and Ryan; her beloved great-grans Taeonna, Harmoney, Desire, Paige, Da Mya, and Jayceon; her godson, Earl Render; also a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
