Carrie B. Hannah was born on May 12, 1932, in Troy, Alabama, to the late Jessie and Louise Jones. She had five siblings who preceded her in death: Louise Townsend, Lillie Mae Hamilton, Charles W. Jones, Willie D. Jones, and Isiah Jones.
Carrie met the love of her life, Robert Lee Hannah, who preceded her in death. They united in holy matrimony on August 21, 1964, and to this union one daughter was born, Monica Lee Hannah. Carrie and Robert enjoyed fishing, traveling, and hosting family gatherings. Carrie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Greater Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Leon Lawrence.
She was a faithful prayer warrior and loved reading “the Holy Word.” Carrie was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who put her heart and soul into cooking, baking, and serving others.
Carrie had one daughter who preceded her in death, Jacqueline Kendricks. She leaves to cherish her loving memories two daughters, Diane Jones and Monica Hannah; one son, David Kendricks; one stepson, Reginald Hannah (Carole Coffey Hannah); one stepdaughter, Valerie Hannah; two stepsons who preceded her in death, Ronell Hannah and Robert Hannah, Jr.; nine grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
