Obituary of Carter Bouvier Smith
Carter Bouvier Smith, 61,of Cleveland, Ohio passed away peacefully after suffering from a long illness on August 27, 2025 . Carter affectionately known as Ma’s boy, Slim, and Punjab was born June 9, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio to Barbara Jean and Carter Allen.
Carter was a God-fearing Protestant man; he confessed his life to Christ at 9 years old. He loved to sing and dance. As a youngster, he was very active in church. He sang in the choir, was an usher and played for the churches’ basketball team. Carter, ma’s boy, discussed scriptures with his mother during his illness. Each text appeared to touch is heart and calm his spirit.
Carter attended Warrensville Heights School System where he played football and enjoyed Wood Shop and building furniture. He danced in talent shows with a group called Fantasy Production for years. He later received a GED and a Welders Certificate.
Carter fathered 6 children Tiante, Ciera, Jasmine, Carter Bouvier. Later he married Callie from that union two children were born Carter Allen and Courtney Bouvier Smith.
In 2009 Carter left Ohio and relocated to Marrietta Georgia he held various jobs until he opened his own valet business, Global King in 2021 to 2024 when his illness caused him to be unable to perform his duties, and he relocated back to Cleveland, Ohio with family.
Carter loved sports particularly the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Browns and attend as many games as he could.
Carter enjoyed karaoke, eating good food, action and comedy movies, concerts, playing ping pong, card games, and socializing.
Carter was always loyal to his friends and had a special bond with people. He was a people person.
He will be missed for his pleasant, respectful and influential personality, his helping hand, loyalty to his friends and family, and beautiful tenor voice.
Carter was the second child with three siblings, Simone, Carmen and Christopher Wainwright.
Carter is survived by his mother, who he was very protective of, his daughters Tiante’ Harris (Johnnie) Ciera, Jasmine, Courtney B. and two sons Carter Bouvier and Carter Allen.
Granddaughters: Malaya, Lyrik, Melody, June, Maia Jade. Grandsons: Darnelle, Jace, and Josiah.
Sisters: Simone and Carmen, Brother Christopher Wainwright, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
The Family of Carter Smith would like to give a special Thank You to two of his brothers from other mothers, who have been more than friends to him. Michael Coleman and Derrick Nichols have been genuinely supportive to Carter in life and during the Celebration of his Life.
