Casey Lee Reaves was born on December 21, 1957, and peacefully passed away on December 1, 2025. A dedicated professional and a vibrant presence in his community, Casey served for over 15 years at the West Fish Market on Lee and Harvard. Known as the “life of the party,” he was most at home behind a grill or a fryer; at every family cookout involving a fish fry, he was at the helm navigating, as no one else could cook fish quite his way. Beyond his culinary talents, Casey was a man who loved working with his hands, finding great joy in fishing and taking immense pride in maintenance, roofing, and painting. He had a special gift for restoring homes, which was a true testament to his hardworking and creative spirit.
Casey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Daisy Reaves, who passed away in January 2019. He was also preceded in death by his father, Ivor Jackson, on June 9, 2001, and his mother, Floris Reynolds, on January 24, 2024.
His memory is deeply cherished by his brother, Michael Reaves, who is honorably overseeing everything pertaining to Casey’s legacy. He also leaves behind a loving family, including his two bonus daughters, Tiffany Butler and Darnika Butler, and his uncle, Clarence Reaves. He will be fondly remembered by his aunts: Anteline Ousley, Julia Thomas, Lorraine Reaves, Elmira Collins, Shirley Reaves, Marie Reaves, and Gwen Reynolds, as well as a host of cousins.
The family invites you to remember Casey’s legacy of hard work, humor, and love. As he often said to those he held dear, “God loves you and so do I”.
