King Charles leaves a Legacy of Love: His wife of 60 years, Queen Mary Ann Tyree; one daughter and firstborn child, Queen Diana Lee Tyree; one son and namesake, King Charles Edward Tyree, Jr. who cared for him and carries on in music and leadership; 11 grandchildren, Princess Lajoy M. Tyree, Princess Qiana L. Owens, Prince William T. Owens III, Prince Charles Edward Owens, Princess NaTosha N. Hodges, Princess Rena R. Hodges, Prince Kelvin Willis, Prince Milton L. Tyree, Princess Chemeca Davis, Princess Jeanine Davis, and Prince Michael L. Tyree, who also preceded him in flight; 29 great-grandchildren; 14 sisters and brothers in love, Janie Stewart, Linda Dobbins, Richard (OG) Pierce (Hadda), Larry Pierce, Sr. (Genara), Antar Pierce, Geraldine Penn, Lillie Pierce, Christine Pierce, Marguerite King, and Rodney Pierce (Irene); a very close cousin / sister, Shirley Mitchell (Jerry) and a cousin / brother, Thornton W. Atlas. Extended family: Lifelong friends / brothers, Charles McKissick, Sr., Arthur Wells (Judy), Brent Bibbs, Harold Render, Norman and Ronnie Mayo (Mandora); God-daughter, Sonya Coleman (Tauris) Trice, 500 nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
And Oh such a great cloud of witnesses: his beloved mother, Dear “Madea,” Mama “Bessie” Bops, Deddy, Freddie, Polia, and sister in love, Myrtle Tyree, who preceded him in flight just 2 month and 1 day prior, Aunt Tina, Grandma Lillie, and the list goes on and on.
