Charles Lee Holly was born on February 16, 1957, in Cleveland Ohio to Emerson and Fannie Holly. He was the 11th out of 14 children. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Fannie Holly, as well as his brothers Dennis Holly, George Hopkins, Donald Holly, Oscar Hopkins and his sisters Ruby Vincent and Jennie Thomas. Charles accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Mt Victory Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Y C Russell. Charles was a graduate of John Hay High School Class of 1977.
Throughout his working life, Charles was employed at Ford Motor Company as an Assembly Line Worker, a Bus Driver, and, as a Cashier and Stockman at Superior Delicatessen.
Charles enjoyed life and had a strong love for travel. As his younger sister Kimberly stated “He was always ready to get up and go at a moment’s notice. He also had a love for motorcycles and fishing.
Although Charles, affectionately known as Charlie, did not have biological children of his own, he was a father figure to many of his nieces and nephews whom loved him dearly.
Charlie will be remembered for his compassion, easy-going personality, and his infectious laugh that lit up a room.
Charles leaves to cherish his siblings, Delord Holly (whom they shared the same birthday), Bobby Holly, Wilbur Holly, Suzanne Holly, Nancy Holly, Pearl Wilson, Kimberely Holly and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
