Chianti Alonna Idley was born on February 1, 2007 in Akron, OH to Thomas and Crystal Idley.
She had just begun her career at Copley High School as the graduating class of 2025.
Kiki really loved singing, writing and drawing and also dabbled in origami, sculpting and teaching herself to play musical instruments in her free time. She played the saxophone in Band but had also taught herself to play piano, clarinet, guitar and harmonica. Chianti was not only gifted in the arts but she was also very athletic since the beginning. She was able to master the monkey bars and complete them with ease at the age of three. She was a very creative young lady that was blessed with an enormous amount of potential. Kiki was special.
Chianti is survived by her parents, Thomas and Crystal Idley; brothers, Tahj Idley and Taiki Idley; sisters, Crystal Idley II and Callie Idley; great-grandmother, Callie Alexander; grandparents, Melvin and Vickie Graham, Rouyn Idley and Patricia Idley; great-aunts, Almira Graham, Sandra (James) Herrell, Louise Carter, Alberta Scruggs, Charlene Carter and Patricia Varner; great-uncles, Milton Graham, Manning Graham and Michael Carter; aunts, Felicia (Jamil) France, Kimberly (Virgil) Thomas, Carmen Graham and Deanna (Cedric) Smith; uncles, Joseph Idley, Shawn Idley and Marcus Idley; and of course, a host of other important family members and friends.
From the day she was born, Chianti’s dad knew there was something special about her and as she grew and progressed, she proved him right. She was so gifted and talented in so many ways, but her truest gift was her purity. She was one of the nicest, most forgiving and kind spirits we have ever had the privilege to know. Kiki truly was an angel and our family appreciates God’s judgement in finding us worthy enough to be given one of his angels for fourteen whole years and we are grateful in the confidence He has that we are strong enough to handle Him bringing her home.
On the day that Chianti arrived to the funeral home and after her immediate family viewed her, it began to rain as soon as we went outside. It started raining very heavy then lightened up and when we looked to the sky there sat a vivid rainbow. Rainbows represent Divine encouragement and in times of distress or uncertainty, they can be interpreted as messages from angels or deceased loved ones who are encouraging you to keep pushing through in the promise that things will be better. Our plans do not always line up with God’s plans. We want you to remember this event in your time of need and know that Chianti is with God. And although we are supposed to walk by faith and not by sight, He was nice enough to cater to our human side and show us proof of this. Thank God for your loved ones, past and present, and know that He is always in charge.
“And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.”
Ecclesiastes 12:7
