Curtis Lynn Nelson was born August 5, 1951, to the union of Donald L., and Mary Nelson in Ravenna, Ohio. Curtis was a loving father, PaPa, brother, and faithful friend.
Curtis served in the U.S. Army as a Medivac until his discharge. He then went on to work in the medical field for many years, working alongside the coroner in Ravenna, Ohio. He then acquired a position at RMH in the Lab/Pathology department, and later went on to work for the City of Ravenna in the street department until his retirement. Even after retirement, Curtis returned to work as a car man and runner at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home for many years until his health forced him back into permanent retirement.
Curtis loved get togethers, cookouts, and holiday events before becoming a double amputee. He absolutely loved his family and friends. He also loved to travel and spending time with his kids, grandkids, and brother.
Curtis L. Nelson, affectionately known as “Curt Dawg,” passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2022, at University Hospital Cleveland at the age of 71 surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald L. Nelson, and Mary Nelson.

(Dr. Geraldine) Nelson of Kent, OH, Jonita (Chuck) Clayton of Akron, OH; aunt, Dr. Beatrice (Ted) Nelson Brewer of Chicago, IL; 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
