With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Curtis Lawson Jr., who departed this life on May 16, 2025. Born on July 2, 1977, Curtis was a cherished husband, son, friend, and member of the community whose warmth, laughter, and kindness touched the lives of many.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 2, 1977 to Parents Father Curtis Lawson, Sr. (proceeded in death) and Dannie M. Elston. Curtis attended Aviation Highschool in the Cleveland Municipal Schools District. He accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior and was baptized by Pastor Bowie At East Mount Zion Baptist Church. Curtis enjoyed working with his hands. As a child Curtis would take things apart so he could put it back together which led him to his lifes work. He was a carpenter and contractor, he started his own business TTC Construction Company. Curtis enjoyed life to the fullest, he met no strangers, always willing to help anyone if he could. He was always smiling.
Curtis join in marriage with Tequita Le-Nae Mims in 2009. Curtis was blessed with four daughters Ciera Lawson, Mozella Lawson, Tyj’Monae Lawson, and Cur’tasia Lawson. Curtis has two sisters Patricia J. Elston (proceeded in death) Crystal Champ (Brian E. Champ) three brothers Dejuan Torrence , Rodney C. Lawson, Shawn C. Lawson (Selena Lawson). Mother in-law Donella Mims (Mikey), Father in-law Tommy Hawkins. Sister in-laws Sheena Mims(Bruce), Sharneika Mims, Shakina Fitzpatrick, Jamone Mims (Barbra), Tommy Mims (Cecelia) Thomas Gordon (Dea), Ulando Mims, Theodis Mims (Cierra), And Nazmi Mustafa(Yolanda). Curtis also had one great Aunt Jessie Mae Thompson, a host of aunts, uncles, neices, nephews, six great nieces, six great nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
