Cryee Mae Portis, 75, was born on December 3, 1945, in Sumter County, Alabama to the late, Sylvester Washington and Johnnie W. Portis.
Cryee was raised in Akron, Ohio by the late, Jerome and Jessie Davis. Cryee grew up in a fun-loving home surrounded by extended family and close friends.
Cryee accepted Christ at an early age and was a current member at Second Baptist Church.
She graduated from Garfield High School. She was a Medical Coding Specialist at Summa Health Systems before retiring after 40 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed attending church, hanging with her sister crew, going on bus trips, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. Cryee was classy, fun, and stylish.
After a battle with her health, Cryee was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester Washington, Johnnie Portis, Jerome, and Jessie Mae Davis; her brothers, Clyde Portis Sr, Johnny J Davis, and Walter Davis Jr; close childhood friend, Anna McDonald; and her special friend, Mary Kathryn Brooks.
Cryee Portis leaves an enduring legacy of love and devotion to her only child, Stanley Davis Sr; 4 grandchildren, Tiffany Davis, Stanley Davis Jr., Steven Davis, and Stanley Tyrell Davis; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Yvonne Davis, Sharon Davis, Debra Wellington- Davis and Gwendolyn Davis all of Chicago Illinois; brother, James (Maria) Portis of Illinois; special cousin, Joyce Tucker; special nieces, Shalondia Spencer and Cryee Sanford El; special friend, Goody Richardson; Washington siblings and family; as well as host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
