Daisy Lee Humphrey, 77, was called to rest by her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 6:05 a.m. After a blessed and highly favored life, she is rejoicing in his presence.
Daisy was one of seven children; 2 brothers and 4 sisters. She was born on July 8, 1940 in Summer Lee, West Virginia to the late Mr. and Mrs. David and Amanda Walters. Her stepmother, Rosa Lee Walters Quinney, helped raise her. Daisy received her education in her hometown. Her devotion to her family, friends, and God were the joy of her life.
Daisy moved to Cleveland where she met and married the love of her life, Mr. Robert Humphrey, Jr. in 1979. She was very instrumental in the nurturing and guidance of Bridgette and her daughter, Shaquay. She was a stepmother to Beverly and Kenneth, whom she loved dearly.
Daisy worked at Laundryland as a cashier in her early years of employment. She also became a Nurse’s Aid for many years. Daisy truly loved taking care of people. She was an avid sports fan of The Cleveland Browns and The Cavs. She never missed a game.
Daisy accepted Christ and became a member of New Jerusalem Church under the late Bishop Clemmons. She later joined Christian Fellowship Center under the late Bishop Bill and Shirley McKinney. There she served faithfully on the usher board for many years until her health began to fail.
Daisy is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Humphrey, Jr.; her brother, William Bradley; her sisters, Emma Lewis and Mary Martin; and her brother-in-law, Ralph Penn, Sr.
Daisy leaves to cherish her precious memories to her children, Bridgette Humphrey Morris (Willie), Beverly Humphrey, and Kenneth Humphrey; eight grandchildren, Shaquay Humphrey, Kenneth Humphrey, Jr., Paine Humphrey, Constance Humphrey, Ebony Humphrey, Taurean Humphrey, Brittany Bright and Cecily Bright; Goddaughters, Princess Clark-Wendell and Tramaine Malone; one brother, David Walters, Sr. (Stacy); two sisters, Margaret Claytor (Richard) and Magdalene Penn; special niece, Marlene Malone (her heart); loyal and dedicated friend, Mary Beasley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
