Darryl Kennedy Watkins was born on June 7, 1962, at Forest City Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.  Darryl was the oldest Twin born to the union of Charlie D. & Laura A. Watkins.  The Twins were the last to be born of the five children.

He attended Superior Elementary, W. H. Kirk Jr. High, and Shaw High School in East Cleveland, Ohio.  He graduated from Shaw High in 1980 and attended Dyke College.

Darryl confessed his faith in Christ at an early age at the Calvary Hill Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Rev. William Z. Bivens.

In 1988, Darryl was united in holy matrimony to Beverly Porter, and two children were born to this union: Darryl Porter Watkins and Taylor Alyse Watkins. Darryl adored his family.

Darryl started his career in retail and managed various shoe stores.  He later worked for AT&T Mobility and supported management in various divisions for over twenty years.  His last place of employment was Jacks Racino, where he was an Executive Host.

Darryl had a dynamic personality.  He was loyal to his family and friends.  He was a very loving and kind person and always encouraging to someone.  He was a person of great confidence, always upbeat, and the life of the party.  He always believed in himself and others.  He had a love for sports, especially basketball, which he and his twin brother dominated, and ruled the courts at Pattison Park, Forest Hills Park, and Euclid Creek, to name a few.  Darryl was a sharp dresser, loved going to concerts, and enjoyed attending a good play.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and going to church.

Darryl leaves to cherish his memories one Son, Darryl (Anna) Porter Watkins of Cleveland, OH; one Daughter, Taylor (Sherif) Alyse Conteh; and two granddaughters, Alyse and Alani of Cincinnati, Ohio; Sister Mary (Jimmy) Giles of Detroit, MI; Oldest Brother Charlie (Gloria) D. Watkins, Jr.; Sister Brenda Hicks of Cleveland, OH, and his Twin Brother Darwin (Dorothy) K. Watkins, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, and a host of Cousins, friends and acquaintances.
