David Cooper III earned his heavenly wings and departed this life on May 24, 2021. He was born on January 25, 1952, to the late David Cooper II and Sophia Cooper. He was a lifetime resident of Akron, OH, where he attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from Buchtel High School in 1970. He was an Army Veteran attending from 1971-1974. He retired from AT&T after 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Yerby (Fuzzy) Stevenson; sister, Billy Jo Cooper.

David leaves to cherish his memory loving wife, of 20 years, Mary Ann Cooper; stepsons, Kenny (Melinda Kay) Thomas, Keith (Shoiven) Thomas; stepdaughter, Tracey Thomas; two daughters, Alexis and Alicia, all of Akron; two sisters, Sabrina Cooper, Thelma (Michael) Bronner; sister-in-law, Yvonne Stevenson of Atlanta, Ga. three grandsons; two granddaughters and a host of nephews, nieces, family members, and friends.
