Obituary for Demaris L. Wilson-Hill
Demaris L. Wilson-Hill, age 29, of Cleveland, Ohio, was born on June 19, 1996, to Tonya Wilson-Hill and Lamar Hill. On March 16, 2026, our lives changed forever when he was suddenly called home.
Demaris was the fifth child, but his presence was larger than life. His smile could light up any room, and his spirit had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and loved. He carried a heart that remained positive even in difficult times and always seemed to know the right words to say when someone needed encouragement.
Demaris was many things to many people—an amazing son, a devoted nephew, a protective brother, a loving father, a proud uncle, and a deeply committed life partner of ten years. Above all, Demaris was a protector. He was especially protective of his son and shared an unbreakable bond with his big sister, and only sister, Nunu, and his baby brother, Monta—who often got on his nerves but whom he loved deeply.
As a child, Demaris loved being outdoors. He enjoyed planting flowers with his father and exploring new things. His adventurous spirit followed him into adulthood, leading him to skydive in Las Vegas and pursue his passion for aviation. At the time of his passing, Demaris was on his way to obtaining his pilot’s license and had already experienced the joy of flying a plane—a reflection of his fearless spirit and desire to reach new heights. One of his dreams was to travel to Japan.
Demaris had a heart for serving others and found fulfillment in feeding the homeless through Hands on Ministry, his mother’s nonprofit organization. Whenever someone was in need, he showed up. He gave his life to Christ at a young age and was baptized at Zion Pentecostal Church of Christ under the leadership of Bishop C. Wayne Brantley.
Demaris attended Maple Heights High School, where he excelled in track and field and earned MVP honors. It was there that he met the love of his life, Cetorre Holliman. He later attended Elyria High School, graduating in 2015.
Demaris was a proud employee of the United States Postal Service, where he served as a clerk for nearly 10 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved son, La’Mar Wilson-Hill; his parents, Tonya Wilson and Lamar Hill; his life partner, Cetorre (Torre) Holliman; his favorite aunt, Wilma Johnson; two Uncles, Dwayne and Terrence Wilson; matriarch aunt, Irene Appling; his siblings, Milton “Boo” Wilson, Theopholis “Thie” Hunter, Tawon “Tweez” Wilson, and Dortheya “Nunu” William (Romie) Cowthon; his favorite cousin, Amir Doss; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Demonta Wilson-Hill.
Demaris will forever be remembered for his love, strength, kindness, adventurous spirit, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew and loved him.
