Denise Michelle Law-Thrasher was born September 10, 1971, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born to Gwendolyn Law and Michael Byrd and was raised in the city of Cleveland. Denise was the third child and was the baby of three in her household. Denise gave her life to Christ at an early age, where she served in the church community. She was certified as a church nurse at True Vine Baptist church in Cleveland, Ohio.

Denise moved to East Cleveland as a teenager, where she attended East Cleveland city schools. She graduated from Shaw High School, the class of 1989 and, also completed Shaw High’s school of Cosmetology. Denise received her license in Cosmetology at the age of seventeen and devoted thirty-five years to the profession. She was an entrepreneur and a business owner (N-3D Hair and Nail salon) for fourteen years. In addition, she just recently received her licensing for selling life insurance. She had just begun working as an insurance agent at Colonial Life insurance company.

On May 5th, 2001, Denise and Eric Thrasher became one and began their family union. She was a devoted and loving mother to her two children, DeLisa (Law)Rivers and Drew Thrasher. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, talking on the phone, shopping, and servicing her clients. She was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She loved traveling with her husband, family and friends. She loved to try new restaurants, and she loved to eat. She loved to laugh and joke. She was quick-witted. She loved being a G-Ma and a dog G-Ma. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Her legacy will live on with all the people she touched along the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gwendolyn J. Law and Michael Byrd, Christopher Swanigan (brother) and Tina Michelle Byrd (sister).

She leaves to mourn her husband, Eric of 23 years of marriage, her daughter DeLisa (Law) Rivers (Alonzo Jr.), her son Drew Thrasher; brother, Erik Law; sister, Kelli Eades (Antonio); sisters Delores (Byrd) Jackson (Michael), Beverly Love (Timothy)Antoinette Byrd, Tracy Byrd, Jacqueline Byrd (Vincent), Sharonda McCruter (Wesley), Pamela Byrd and Michelle Murray. Along with 2 grandchildren, Maxwell and Judah and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and family.
