Derrick leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Renee; stepson, Vincent; sons, Derrick, James and David; daughters Karmen and Mychell; grandchildren, Davion, Neveah and Derrick, Jr.; father, Edward Banks; sister Faye (Michael); in-laws, Charles and Geraldine Hempstead; nieces, Ashley (Marcel) and Courtney, childhood friends, Reggie, Brian, Eric and the entire East 160th Street Community, as well as extended family and friends.

Offering my sincere condolences. I grew up on Lotus and knew Derrick. We also worked @ Metro Hosp. together back in the 90s. He was always a gent when he came around me and had the most infectious personality that made me laugh. May the family cherish his memories and not his absence. God Bless you all.

Sending prayers to the family. Derrick was one of my brothers best friends. They used to play basketball together all the time. I pray the peace of God gives you strength during this time. I just found our today he passed.
