Derrick Spivey, affectionately called Durk or Durkee, went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2020 at the age of 55. Durkee is survived his mom, Sherry Bostick; siblings Roger Marshall-Spivey (Smantha), Llyod Spivey (Pam), Maria Stewart (Lee) and Reggie Spivey (Marie); beloved children and their mom’s, Damario Hammond-Spivey (Anta), Autumn Hood (Shonda) and Ethan Spivey with his fiancé Nicol Williams; and grandson, Auden Strickland. He was especially proud of his two eldest nephews, Jamail Spivey and Demario Springfield-Spivey and the men they have become. Derrick also leaves to cherish his memory many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and longtime friends.

To the Spivey family, there are no words that can heal the pain of losing your loved one, Derrick. We have to keep in mind Acts 24:15 when the righteous along with the unrighteous will be resurrected enabling them to learn about Jehovah and live on a paradise earth forever. That time is right around the corner. Stay focused on the future and before you know it, our hope will be a reality.

My CONDOLENCES to my niece Autumn Hood and the FAMILY, Derrick was one of my favorite people...I first met him as child while he dated my sister and he was the coolest guy I knew with the freshest clothes and coolest cars everytime he came over I would ask for a ride and just about everytime he would take me around the block with music blasting and when I was in high school he had this fly damaged outfit that he let me wear he saved my whole high school journey and I watched him be a GREAT FATHER TO MY NIECE...DERRICK was definitely like a cool BIG BROTHER from another mother FLY HIGH SIR

I have known Derrick since he was a baby. I was very encouraged and offer my sincere condolences to the entire family. It is truly wonderful to know that Derrick will live again and that he did many wonderful things in this life.
