DeWayne Russell Smith, age 65, of Marion, Indiana passed away at 2:30 PM on Saturday, November 13, 2021. He was born February 3, 1956, in Marion, Indiana to Russell W. Burden and Gertrude Smith.
DeWayne made himself available to help with projects and cut grass at Lighthouse Baptist Church, as a dependable handyman. He was known in the neighborhood as “Red” and worked for the Akron Beacon Journal delivering newspapers.
DeWayne is proceeded in death by grandparents, Markus and Margaret Jones; mother, Gertrude Smith; and adopted parents, Verlin and Janice Smith.
He is survived by children, Aramis Hall (Danielle) and Duante L. Bryant; grandchildren, Arshaelia (19), Ahmeyah (15) Aramis (12), and Aviya (10); parent, Russell W. Burden; siblings, Russell Burden Jr. (Sandy), Quentin Paschall, Mark Burden (Cheryl), Robert Paschall (Evonda), Karen Harris (Kenneth), David Burden (Tonya), Dawn Bruton (Hoppie), Cheryl Flinn (Donald); as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
