Mr. Dewayne Worley was born on November 3rd, 1961, to the late Mr. Thadous Worley and Mrs. Eula Bestile Worley in the state of North Carolina.
During his young adult life, Dewayne held several jobs and had a passion for making juice—a trade he often bragged about with pride. Though Dewayne battled addiction for much of his life, he discovered a new way of living through sobriety. This month would have marked six years of uninterrupted sobriety. Dewayne was deeply proud of that milestone, and his infectious smile reflected the joy it brought him.
He was an amazingly loving and caring man who never met a stranger. He loved to cook and experiment with new recipes, cared deeply for his family, and always listened before offering his wisdom. On June 5th, 2025, Dewayne peacefully transitioned from his earthly life in his favorite place—his home.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Thadous and Eula Worley; three brothers, Douglas, Reginald, and Gilbert Worley; one nephew, Dexter Purdie III; one niece, Donna Barnes McRae; and a very special aunt, Christine Chambers. Their memories continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved them.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Azra Watson; a special friend, Vivette Evans; two sisters, Patricia Page and Alice Powers; two brothers, Thadous Worley Jr. and Jerry Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Let the unwavering strength and resilience Dewayne found in overcoming life’s challenges inspire us to support and uplift one another on our own journeys. And let his radiant smile remind us we are loved—and that we are able.
