Dorothy Lamar Maye was born October 8th, 1945 in
Livingston, AL and was the ninth child of eleven children to
Susie Bibbs Maye and Herbert B. Maye. She attended Sumter
County public school in Livingston, AL and John F. Kennedy
High School in Cleveland, Ohio.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of
the Prospect Baptist Church in Livingston, AL. She worked at
Teddy’s Restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio for many years. In later
years she joined the Lee Road Baptist Church and sang in the
Gospel Choir. Aunt Dorothy was always ready to baby sit for
her nieces and nephews and took them as her own.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories: three sisters Deloris
(Eli) Seaborn, Alabama, Jean (Eddie) Gunn, Ohio and Sylvia
Lee, California, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host
of other relatives and friends.
