Born on August 24, 2008, Dy’Shaun brought light, laughter, and joy into the lives of everyone who knew him. A proud student at East Tech High School, he was known for his dancing, humor, kindness, infectious smile, and boundless creativity.
From the time he could walk, Dy’Shaun had a ball in his hands. On the football field, he played with grit and passion, always stepping up wherever the team needed him most. He wasn’t just a player—he was a leader. With words of encouragement and quiet determination. Dy’Shaun inspired those around him and led by example through his relentless work ethic and heart.
On the basketball court, Dy’Shaun was just as fierce and focused. With a quick first step, sharp instincts, and a deep love for the game, he gave every play his all. His coaches often said he had a “coach’s mind and a teammate’s heart.” No matter the score, Dy’Shaun’s energy and drive never wavered.
Off the field and court, Dy’Shaun brought that same loyalty, joy, and light into his friendships and family life. He loved spending time with family and friends after practicing—laughing, dancing, and making memories that will never be forgotten.
Dy’Shaun will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Ryan and Rose; his siblings Germonte, Ryuana, Jimia, Mertez, Lontae, Juelz, Kartier, Kiari, and Marshawn; and his grandparents Leslie, Wendell, and Jimmy—as well as his beloved grandmother Vern, who he now joins in heaven.
He will also be deeply missed by his aunts Saundra, Christina, Ja Meisha, Cyerha (DeAngelo Sr.), Lesley Jr., Aretha, and Antoinette; uncles Brandon, Marlon, Robert Sr., and Larry; and by a wide circle of extended family, friends, teachers, coaches, and teammates whose lives he touched in his sixteen beautiful years.
