Eddie Bullock was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 11, 1944, to Pauline Bullock. He was an only child. Eddie passed away on December 18, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Denise Bullock. Together, they had a blended family with 6 sons and 3 daughters: Kenneth Johnson (Deanna), Dawn Adams, Edward Jr. Bullock, Valencia Ruesch (Austin), William Penn (Diamond), Eric Bullock, Erica Johnson, Erin Bullock (Daughn), and Evan Bullock (Britanie). Eddie is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
During his youth, Eddie lived with his grandparents Ira and Ruth Bullock in Fair Bluff, North Carolina for seven years. He often shared stories of picking cotton and cropping tobacco. His grandparents later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where Eddie attended William S. Pierce Elementary School. At the age of 13, he moved to Bronx, New York to live with his mother, Pauline Bullock, and attended PS 53 High School. While in New York, he entered a trade program and became skilled in lithography, earning his certifications.
In 1966, Eddie moved to Cleveland and began working as a Lithographer at Robert S. Silverman’s. He later became the Manager of the print shop at Stouffers in Solon, Ohio, where he met his wife, Denise. After the print shop closed, Eddie took on the role of Manager at The Cleveland Sight Center’s print shop until his retirement in 2005.
In 2009, Eddie accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at Gods Tabernacle of Faith Church. He became a Deacon in 2015 under the leadership of Overseer Timothy L. Eppinger and was appointed head Deacon in 2017 before being ordained in 2020.
Eddie was a devoted husband who embodied all the qualities of a loving partner. He was a provider, a friend, and a loyal companion to his wife. Known as “Mr. Fix it” and lovingly called “Inspector Gadget” for his ability to fix anything, Eddie was always there to help others. His nickname “The Candy Man” came from his habit of passing out candy to church members and anyone he met. People trusted Eddie and sought his advice, as he was known for his quick wit and ability to make others laugh, even on their worst days.
Eddie was like a father to many, an uncle to all the children at church, and a friend to many outside the church. He and his wife Denise were inseparable, with Eddie supporting her as she pursued her calling in the ministry. When Denise became a minister and later an Executive Pastor, Eddie stood by her side, encouraging her every step of the way. Together, they founded Miraculous Hope Ministries Church in May of 2022, with Eddie serving as the supportive and dedicated First Man.
Eddie’s love for his children and grandchildren was unwavering. He almost never missed a game or event, always showing up as a supportive father figure. He set a great example of what a man should be. Despite facing numerous medical challenges over the past 8 years, Eddie remained strong and hopeful, finding comfort in his faith in Jesus Christ as a healer. With the prayers of his loved ones, he was able to overcome the odds and experience miraculous healing time and time again. Eddie’s life serves as a testament to the power of faith and the miracles that can come from it. He was a living example of God’s grace and a reminder that the same miracles that happened for him through faith can happen for anyone.
