Elizabeth L. Fry Johnson, 86, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2022 at Doctors West Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born April 15, 1936 in Wadley, Georgia.
She moved to Akron, Ohio, where she became a wife and mother to five children. Elizabeth worked as a cook and had a second job as a baker. This was truly her passion that made her smile, and happy on a daily basis. She retired from these professions at 72 years old.
Elizabeth had a true love for God, was a dedicated member at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and served on the Deborah Circle Usher Board; following this love throughout her life. Her greatest joy was her children and grand-children. Being there for whomever, whenever needed with open arms and showing that same love and affection to each one of them.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie Hudson and father, Daniel Johnson Sr.; husband, George B. Fry Sr.; sons, George B. Fry Jr., Michael R. Fry; also daughter, Barbara J. Fry. Also preceding her in death was James E. Franklin.
Elizabeth is leaving behind a host of friends and loved ones. She is survived by her brother, Daniel Johnson Jr.; daughters, Debra A. Drake and Elizabeth Fry; close and truly loved grandchildren, LaToya E. Anderson (Greer) (Justin Greer), Brittany N Anderson, Herman D. Drake Jr. (Amanda Drake), Louis Christian Jr., Michael R. Fry, Capri Fry, and Monique Fry. She also leaves a legacy behind of 12 great grandchildren, Tramaine, Jordyn, Kyren, Kayden, Raelyn, Kennedi, Kameron, Alexa, Braxton, Journey, Madeline, Phillip and great-great grandsons, Hudson and Lonnie.
