Elizabeth Mosley was born to the late Mance and Ressie Garrett Lynch on January 31, 1925 in Ashland, Alabama. She received her early education at Ashland Junior High School. She was married to the late James Mosley, and they were blessed with one child, Katherine Washington.
She loved her church and the Lord. When she became unable to attend, she continued to support the ministries of her church.
Elizabeth worked in private homes and Kent State University for a short time until her health started to fail. She and her sisters enjoyed traveling around to flea markets, yard sales and the Goodwill. Her other pastime was spending the whole day at Summit Mall.
She was a great cook and had developed these skills at a young age, cooking with her mother. At the family gatherings, she would prepare her two specialties, mac & cheese and candied yams.
She loved her family, always wanting to spend quality time with them. She was the family historian, recounting names, places, time and events. She always reminded family members how far they had come in life, and how the Lord had blessed them.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brothers, Jessie and Abraham Lynch; sisters, Matilda Ann Lynch, Irene Clark, Rosie L. Kerney, Ruth Reese and Cealie Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memory, devoted daughter, Katherine Washington; devoted granddaughter, Denise (Barry) McIver; grandson, Eric Dancy; great grandsons, Kameron McIver, Antwon Dancy and Javon Dancy; great granddaughter, Michelle Easter; great-great grands, Jaymerie Dancy and Jiovanni Dancy; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Special recognition to Denise for her unwavering, steadfast show of love to her grandmother.
