Ernest Bibbs was born on April 8, 1940, in Livingston, Alabama, to Eula Bell (Jim Bell) and AD Mitchell (Pauline Mitchell).

Ernest Bibbs worked for C & A Trucking for many years before retiring. He attended Greater Friendship Baptist Church and Greater Faith Baptist Church, both for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He loved to dance, party, and have a good time when he was not on the road driving. He enjoyed listening to Blues music. All he would say is “If I Had My Shoes On”. He would talk to you all day nonstop about the President and what is going on in the world. (He might repeat himself, but you sat and listened.) He loved watching sports with his daughter, Bonnie. He enjoyed sharing his time with his friends, as well. He loved to travel and visit family. Last, he loved driving his Big Rig all around the United States.

He transitioned from this life on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. He will always be remembered by all of his loved ones.

Ernest was preceded in death by his loving wife, LM Bibbs; a sister, Annette Knight and a brother, William Knight.

Ernest Bibbs leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved children: daughters, Vicky Bibbs (James Dunlap) and Bonnie Grayer, and son, Elmerto Bibbs (Cherie Bibbs); his sisters, Barbara Cole (Charles), Patricia Willis (Odell), Lydia Patterson (Charles), Isabella M Combs; his brothers, Michael D. Mitchell (Erlinda), Alfred D Mitchell, Arthur C. Mitchell (Sarah), Douglas Mitchell Sr. (Belinda); his loving grandchildren, Charles Grayer Jr, Tanicha Bibbs, Maleka Livingston, Tiana Bibbs, Marneesha Grayer, James Bibbs, Terrance Bibbs, Charles Grayer III and Toi Bibbs; great grandchildren, Anta’leka Motley, Kenneth Livingston, Aamir Grayer, Aamani Grayer, Aamore Grayer, Savior Grayer, TrayQwan Bibbs, Toiana Bibbs, James Bibbs Jr., Jame’r Bibbs, Jame’n Bibbs, Ziyah Bibbs, TaShon Bibbs, Kalyn Bibbs, Ay’lana Bibbs, Christopher Bibbs, Jaxson Bibbs, Zavion Bibbs, Ze’Miyah Bibbs, Ziveair Bibbs, Tiana Grayer, Charles Grayer IV, Darion Grayer, and Brianna Grayer; great- great grandchildren, Carter Livingston, Malikai Livingston, Tristen Bibbs, Amor’Dior Perkins, Mazzi’aire Livingston, Discovery Motley, and a host of nephews, nieces, and other family member and friends.
