Eva Mae Coleman (née Showers), age 93, passed away peacefully April 22, 2022, after a gradual decline in health.
Eva Mae was born on February 26, 1929, in Selma, Alabama to the late Janie Jackson and Azilee Showers.
She moved to Cleveland, Ohio when her children were small and worked several hospitality positions to provide for her family. She dedicated herself to Christ at an early age and used the Christian principles to guide her throughout her long life. Eva Mae was a committed member of both Fair Temple and Church of God and True Holiness.
Eva Mae enjoyed fishing, cooking, and collecting frogs, whatnots, and baby dolls. She had a green thumb and had a beautiful collection of house plants.
She was a provider to many, always opening her heart and her home to all in need. Her generosity, love, wisdom, and compassion made her everyone’s favorite “Granny”. She will forever be missed and remembered by all who loved her.
She was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband Fred Coleman; her parents Janie Jackson and Azilee Showers; brother Agee Showers; and son Bobby Rand Showers.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her brother Daniel Showers (Ruth Helen – deceased); her Sister in-law, Katherine Showers; her daughter Susie Showers; grandchildren Sabrina Mitchell (Randy-deceased), Ashley Showers, Robert Washington (Wanda), Issac Washington (SharLisa), Terrance Showers (Lian), Iwanda Huggins (Darren), James Cobb, III, Keenan Cobb, April Wyatt (Isaiah); and great-grandchildren Taisia, RJ, Juston, Emir, Aubrielle, Robert II, Adam, Ryland, Iyonnah, Issac, Jr., Miyera, Marissa, Frederick, Nolan, Emmett, Marcus, Darryn, Jashun, Keenyari, Keenan Jr., Eva, Zoe, Ava, and Isaiah Jr. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family will receive friends at Calhoun Funeral Home, 23000 Rockside Rd, Bedford Heights 44146 on Thursday April 28, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Calhoun Funeral Home, 23000 Rockside Rd, Bedford Heights 44146 on Friday April 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. (Wake begins at 12:30 p.m.)
