Gary Donell Kennerly was born on August 17, 1965, in Springfield, Massachusetts to the parents of Reynolds and Patricia Kennerly. He was raised from a toddler in Cleveland, Ohio. On July 5, 2023, Gary passed away unexpectedly in Tennessee while visiting relatives.
Gary attended the East Cleveland Public School System from Grades K-12, graduating from Shaw High School in the Class of June 1984. Gary attended Akron University where he completed his freshman year.
Gary was employed at Weltman Weinberg & Associates and another financial institution for a brief period. He finished his working career with Ford Motor Company where he gave 25 years of excellent service prior to his retirement on disability in 2019.
Gary was the proud father of his only child, Jerron, and raised him throughout his formative years to become the man that he is today. Gary ensured that Jerron receive a formal education, and he was so pleased when Jerron received his Master’s Degree from Cleveland State University.
Gary confessed the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 2007, and he was baptized at The Word Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Gary loved being with his family and friends, where he was at his happiest entertaining them with his cooking, laughter, playing cards and listening to some good “old school” music.
Preceding Gary in death was his brother and only sibling, Sean Kennerly, who passed away in December 2021, his special grandparents, Jack and Nancy Wesley and Benjamin and Frances Kennerly, and many aunts and uncles.
Gary leaves to cherish his memory his son, Jerron; his father and mother Reynolds and Patricia Kennerly; his aunts Louise Askins, Joana Betts, Linda King (Bobby) and Clarice Williams; and his uncle Raymond “Tommy” Wesley, Sr. (Janice). Gary was extremely close with all of his cousins. Over the years, his friendships went far beyond “friends.” Gary had several childhood friendships that were cultivated into brotherhood and sisterhood.
Lovingly Submitted,
