Gertha McIntyre was born on August 27, 1929, and departed this life on March 16, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Willie McIntyre; daughter, Rosemary Gary; son, Eric McIntyre.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Karen Simmons Knowlton, Richard Simmons, Cathy (Bishop F Josephus II) Johnson, William (Maisha) McIntyre; sixteen beloved grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other beloved relatives and friends.
Gertha was a licensed nurse and worked at Akron General Hospital and various medical facilities throughout the Akron area during her career. Outside of her professional work, she was a dedicated member of New Life Christian Center C.O.G.I.C., where she had many close friendships and served as church mother and mentor.
