Ghana Camille Johnson, a beacon of joy, wisdom, and love, graced this world on September 7, 1969, born to Kenneth and Marcia Adams. Her life was a tapestry of laughter, kindness, and a deep commitment to those she cherished. On June 2, 2025, Ghana departed this earthly life, returning to the loving embrace of Father God, leaving behind a legacy that will be treasured forever.
Early Years and Education
From the halls of Miles Elementary School to J.F. Kennedy High School, Ghana’s journey through the Cleveland Public School System was marked by excellence. A brilliant and progressive thinker, Ghana excelled in her academic pursuits, earning accolades and admiration for her intellect and determination. Her wit and humor were evident even as a child and would become hallmarks of her personality that endeared her to all.
Ghana accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted follower.
A Life Devoted to Family and Community
Family was the cornerstone of Ghana’s heart. Her home was a sanctuary where love, laughter, and wisdom intertwined. She delighted in hosting family gatherings, crafting meals infused with passion and love, and sharing her knowledge with those around her. Ghana’s home radiated warmth, a place where friends and relatives felt welcomed and uplifted. Her generous spirit extended beyond her family; she was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Love and Partnership
On July 8, 1995, Ghana married Angelo, a union built on mutual love and shared dreams. Together, they cultivated a life of joy that lasted until her final breath. Angelo’s devotion to Ghana was unwavering, and their bond was a testament to the power of love. Ghana was also the proud and loving mother to her children—sons Channing, Clifford, and Colin, and daughter Cheyenne—who were the light of her life.
Passion for Dance
One of Ghana’s greatest joys was dancing, particularly hand-dancing. She and Angelo were a couple who lit up the dance floor with their fluid, harmonious moves, each step reflecting their connection and rhythm. Whether swaying to a soulful melody or moving to the beat of a lively tune, their presence on the dance floor was magnetic and unforgettable.
