It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Hakeem Sultaana, also known as Kevin Hughley, who left this world on October 25^th, 2024. Born on February 27^th, 1971, he was cherished and a source of joy and love for those who knew him.

Hakeem had a vibrant spirit and a kind heart. Throughout his life, Hakeem experienced both triumph and struggles. Despite the challenges he faced and was up against in life, he had a strong will power to survive and overcome obstacles. Those challenges he faced, he survived to the best of his abilities and limitations. He had an innate ability to bring laughter and light to those around him. He was loved deeply and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.

He is survived by his mother, Amirah Sultaana, biological father Kenneth Hughley, Children Charles Williams, Kiara Taylor, and Brianna Hughley; sister Shaleen Doughlas and a host of other family members and friends and acquaintances – those who truly cared and who will remember him for resilience and the love he shared. His journey reminds us of the importance of compassion and understanding.

Though his life was not without struggles and pain and suffering, we choose to remember Hakeem for his spirit, his laughter, and the love he gave unconditionally. May the Most High grant Hakeem the peaceful rest he so desired, and embraced by the love and light he so richly deserves.
