Hattie L. Engram was born February 6, 1938 in Palmetto Florida to the union of late Helen (Roy) O’Neal. Soon after they moved to Cleveland Ohio where she attended Cleveland Public Schools graduating from John Hay School of business.
Then the magic happened. Hattie met Donald, whom she fondly called “Dad” and they were married for 64 years.
Hattie found Christ at an early age and was a member of Greater Abyssinia and later joined Emmanuel Baptist Church where she devoted her time serving with the kitchen ministry.
Hattie worked at GM/Fisher Body for 5 years of service. Worked as a private duty CNA for several years and Big Lots as a marketing retail professional for 10 years. She was known affectionately as “Mom” by everyone and a positive spirit and motivator to all.
Hattie loved watching all sports, working her word search puzzles, cooking, collecting antiques, spoons from all over the world and large assortment of Dolls. Most of all, she loved working in her flower garden.
Hattie “ Moms” answered God’s call to eternal rest on February 22, 2023.
She leaves to honor and cherish her memory her loving husband, Donald James Engram Sr., Children, Donald James Engram II (Mary) who preceded her in death, Christine “Tina” Engram, grandchildren, DeAndré Engram, Donald James Engram III, (Marian), Marcus Darrell Engram, great grandchildren Amayah and Mariah ; Aunt, Della Blair, siblings Vincent and Jay (Cathy) O’Neal both deceased, sister Ann Carrington; Bernard(Dina) Rodney Dunbar and a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
