Herbert Dean Freeman (Herb) was born April 2, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Chester and Mary Freeman nee (Hester). He was the fourth child born to this union. Herbert attended Cleveland public schools and was a graduate of East Technical High school. After high school, Herbert would go on to work several jobs throughout his life including Laborer and Security guard. Herbert was very creative and could draw anything still-life figure and cartoon. As a teen, his drawings were showcased in the Halle Building.
Herbert wed Joyce Freeman nee (Dunn) July 2, 1974, and to this union four children were born. Herbert enjoyed life and smiled throughout the storms. He always looked at life with a glass half full perspective. He had many sayings but one of his most used was “I’m back in the saddle again”, which was a testament to the trials he faced in this life, and his strength. Herbert grew up attending the Kingdom Hall and prayed daily. He would always reference Jehovah stating, “God is always with us”. Herbert was a family oriented and very protective. He was the person you would want on your side, in times of adversity.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Keisha Freeman, sister Gail Riley nee (Freeman), nephew Richard Freeman Jr, and niece Deidre Riley. Herbert’s memory will live on in his children; Steven freeman, Kwana Haynes (Daryl), Shannon Freeman, and Raymond Lewis (Nikita).17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Siblings; Chester Freeman Jr, Richard Freeman (Lily), Duran Freeman (Merline), and Michelle Wilkins (James). Three nieces, three nephews, one Aunt; Learmy Hester of Georgia and a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Herbert departed this life on 10/17/22, after surviving many life altering events. Herb you are now back in the saddle, and we wish you a peaceful journey.
